Janice Love, Captain

Captain Love has 27 years of accredited law enforcement service.  Before joining the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Captain Love worked for and retired from the DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD). She was promoted to Sergeant at DKPD and served in the Uniform Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Internal Affairs, an aide to the Chief of Police and Assistant Commander in the Police Athletic League (P.A.L. Plus), where she was also Secretary on the Board of Directors.  Captain Love began her law enforcement career at the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas, in 1997. She is a native of Arkansas and resides in Covington, Georgia.  Captain Love attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where she earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 1994.  She is a Certified Voice Stress Examiner, Crisis Intervention Officer, and Law Enforcement Instructor.  She is also a graduate of the (IACP) Leadership in Police Organizations and United Way Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP).
