Inmate Legal Resources

Legal Resources

Inmates should direct legal questions to their lawyers.

Court appointed attorneys can be appointed for those who cannot afford legal representation for defendants facing criminal prosecution.

For felony cases, an inmate can contact the Public Defender’s Office via the email services offered through the Inmate Kiosk.

Public Defenders Office (Felony Cases): (770) 288-7460.

Lister, Holt & Dennis (Misdemeanor Cases): (770) 210-8200.

The GeorgiaLegalAid.org provides the public with easy access to basic legal information and resources in Georgia.

FastCase Resources

Inmates are also able to access FastCase, the Law Library services provided to an inmate.  FastCase provides the inmate with a national law library wherein they are able to have access to a legal research database of cases, statutes, regulations, court rules and bar publications.  Inmates that are pro se (representing self) may access the law library to aid him/her in case preparations.
