Albert Johnson, CAPTAIN

Captain Albert Johnson began his tour of duty with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in January 2021. Captain Johnson started his Law Enforcement career as a Patrolman with the Ruleville Police Department in 1984 and transferred to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office in 1986. During his tenure with DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, he worked in Field Operations, Court Services and Jail Operations. With the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, he was a Certified General Instructor, Firearms Instructor and Field Training Officer. He helped create the Civil Process Unit of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and a founding member of Georgia Civil Process Association Inc. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Criminal Justice Degree in 1983. He and his family have been living in Henry County for 29 years. His children graduated from Union Grove High School and his wife has worked for Southern States Police Benevolent Association (PBA) for over 26 years.
