The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of ongoing scams targeting our community, particularly involving inmate information, bonding, and payment requests.

Please be advised of the following:

  • The Sheriff’s Office will NEVER request payment over the phone, by text, email, or social media.
  • We do NOT accept payments through gift cards, cryptocurrency, or third-party payment apps (Cash App, Zelle, Venmo, etc.).
  • Official bonding and inmate services information is only provided through verified, authorized sources.

Common Scam Tactics Include:

  • Requests for immediate payment to secure an inmate’s release
  • Individuals posing as law enforcement or court officials
  • Calls or messages creating urgency or threatening consequences

If you receive a call or message demanding immediate payment for a bond:

  • Pause and verify before taking action through official channels.
  • Do not provide payment or personal information.
  • Report the incident to local law enforcement so we can investigate and help prevent others from being targeted.
