Lieutenant (LT) David Bedford joined the Henry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) in July of 2005 as a Detention Officer. In his time with the Sheriff’s Office he has worked in various units from Civil, Warrants, and School Resource. LT Bedford have served on the SWAT team since 2009, and in 2016 began expanding his skills and capabilities by becoming an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. In addition, earning the Paramedic Certification, allowing him to serve as the team’s medic. LT Bedford transferred to the Training Unit in 2021 and was promoted to Lieutenant over Field and Court Training. He is very passionate about training and strive to create classes that are engaging and practical. He is a certified POST General, Firearms and Emergency Medical Instructor and has an associate degree in Criminal Justice.
