Michelle Allen, CAPTAIN

Captain Dr. Michelle T. Allen joined the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in September 2024 as the Accreditation Manager. Capt. Dr. Allen holds Basic Law Enforcement Officer, Corrections Officer, and Jailer certifications for the State of Georgia. Capt. Dr. Allen is currently assigned to Jail Operations as a Watch Commander.

Capt. Dr. Allen retired from the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and has over 25 years of law enforcement experience which encompasses Lead Internal Affairs Investigator, Civil Division Sergeant, Field Operations and Court Services Deputy, Detention Officer, Street level and multi-jurisdictional unit Undercover Narcotics Agent, and the first African American woman Drug Detection Canine Handler at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. Capt. Dr. Allen also has experience as a Correctional Officer with the State of Georgia.

Capt. Dr. Allen’s law enforcement experience and education enabled her to become the Lead Instructor of Criminal Justice at the Atlanta Centers for Saint Leo University, where she taught Doctoral and Undergraduate courses, and served as a Dissertation Chair and Committee Member for students pursuing a Doctorate.

Additionally, Capt. Dr. Allen holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Law and Public Policy; Master of Philosophy in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Law and Public Policy; Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Critical Incident Management; Bachelor of Arts in Sociology; and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts degrees.

Capt. Dr. Allen is married with children and is proud to be of service to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Henry County, Georgia.
